Habits you must not follow in 2022

Honestly, there is no best or worst day to give up on bad habits and adapt to new ones. The day you acknowledge the issues that are keeping you from reaching your goals is when you should start making efforts to give up on them for your betterment. If you haven't then now is the time to do so. As we enter a new year, full of possibilities and hopes, there is no need to carry the baggage of bad habits with you that can make the journey more challenging for no reason. It is time to break the chain and end the vicious cycle on New Year's eve. Here are some habits that you must not bear with yourself in 2022.

2/8

Ignoring your mental health

We talk so much about prioritising our mental health, but only a few dare to take a stand when required. We keep on struggling with anxiety and stress in the name of work or family issues, sidelining the need to keep our mental health above them. One of the reasons is the taboo associated with mental health conditions. We keep on sulking due to the fear of being judged by others. This year pledge to prioritise your mental well-being above every other thing. Talk to your loved one and seek help when things get tough.

3/8

Procrastination

Have you ever calculated how many times in a day you voluntarily delayed or postponed your work for no reason and when you are close to the deadline you get anxious? If you would calculate it would be a lot of times. Procrastination only makes your task difficult for later and increases the episodes of anxiety and stress. Try not to procrastinate this year and finish your time before scheduled so you can enjoy your free time.

4/8

Self-doubt

Self-doubt and negative self-talk can sabotage your success. Truth be told, there are a lot of people to pull you down, you do not have to do this to yourself. Be good to yourself and nurture good thoughts. Only you can encourage and motivate yourself to do better and achieve the unachievable. So, dream big, strive hard and be kind to yourself because nobody else will.

5/8

Skipping workout

Even though we know that exercising is good for our health, we always find a way to skip it, making one or the other excuses. It is necessary to understand that exercising regularly is only going to benefit us and improve our health. Nobody else is going to gain anything from it. So, stop finding excuses to skip it and more to add it to your routine. Even if your workout lasts for 15 minutes, be consistent.

6/8

Emotional eating

From time to time we all get into the mode of healthy eating, but soon give up and indulge in emotional eating. We do not say that enjoying our favourite meal is incorrect, you need to know when to stop. Eat what you like, whenever you like, but understand the needs of your body and listen to it. Provide it with nutritious and healthy foods.

7/8

Overspending

It is said that shopping is a stress buster, but we say saving is equally essential. Saving and investing a portion of your money is the right way to build wealth and secure your future. So, plan your month and spend only a portion of your salary, rather than splurging all it on things you do not need.

8/8

People pleasing

People-pleasing is a vicious cycle, which only harms our mental peace and health. We often get into this habit of pleasing others, fearing that we will be branded as self-centered or selfish. While doing so we overlook our needs and well-being. This year break the chain, do not fear to put yourself above others and say no when you want to. If you will not take care of yourself, nobody else will.
