Easy Besan Ka Sheera Recipe

When winter breeze results in sore throat and running nose, traditional home remedies come to the rescue. One such nuskha is of Besan Ka Sheera that many grandma's have taught the younger generation. It's the warmth of ghee and roasted besan, that heals the body from inside and keeps us warm. Take a look at the simplest recipe. (Image Courtesy: Instagram/cook__em__all)

Ingredients


1 cup besan, ½ cup ghee, 1 cup sugar, 2½ cups warm water, ¼ tsp cardamom powder, a pinch of saffron, and 2 tbsp chopped dry fruits

Step 1


To begin with, heat ghee in a heavy-bottom pan on low flame.

Next, add besan and roast on low to medium heat until it turns golden and releases a nutty aroma. It will take around 10-15 minutes.

Now, lower the flame and slowly add warm water while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Stir well and cook until the ghee starts separating.

Once done add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until glossy.

Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.
