In-car dining services in Kerala

Change is the only constant; this is what kept all of us driving all through wave 1 and wave 2 of COVID19. Now, after the second wave as the situation is getting back to normal, the fear of wave 3 is haunting all of us. But, as they say, one has to move on. The food and beverage industry has been badly affected by the pandemic and now to move on with a fresh start, restaurants and hotels are coining concepts that can work best for them. ​What is an in-car dining initiative?

Recently, the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) launched an in-car dining initiative, wherein restaurants operating under KTDC will offer local cuisine to tourists and visitors while they are sitting in their car/vehicle. The announcement was made in the month of June, where it was mentioned that customers can place meal bookings at KTDC's Aahaar restaurants. (Image: istock)

In a statement, state tourism minister PA Mohammed Riyas informed ANI, "Instead of dining inside a restaurant and mingling with the crowd, the in-car dining initiative will ensure safety to the tourists coming to Kerala.
