Nutritional value of 1 medium pomegranate, which is about 280g fruit is- 144 calories, 33 g carbs, 24 g sugar, 7 g dietary fiber, 3 g protein, and 2 g fat. It also contains 18 mg vitamin C, 28 µg vitamin K, 66 µg folate, 410 mg potassium, 28 mg calcium, 0.8 mg iron, and 21 mg magnesium .

Pomegranate contains polyphenols and flavonoids that help reduce oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol). It also contains compounds like punicalagin that help keep blood vessels flexible and open, improving circulation and reducing the risk of blockages. As per experts, daily intake of pomegranate may help lower systolic blood pressure, especially in people with hypertension as it relaxes blood vessel walls and reduces stress on the heart.
