Eating at a restaurant is an experience that helps beat the monotony of home cooked food. But, what if the experience turns out to be a nightmare? Yes, you read it right. In a recent incident, a woman in Airoli, Sector 4 Navi Mumbai found a dead rat in her food at a reputed restaurant. Scroll down to read the details.

As per a report by the Free Press Journal, a group of women celebrating Women’s Day at Purple Butterfly restaurant in Airoli Sector 4 were allegedly served food containing a dead rat. The incident came into light after a police complaint was filed and action was taken by the Food and Drug Administration.

As per the report, a salon owner had organized a Women's Day celebration with her friends on March 8 and while dining, they found a dead rat in a Manchurian dish.



Once confronted by the manager of the restaurant, the woman filed a complaint and the manager apologized as well.

The women captured photos and videos of both the contaminated food and the filthy kitchen, which were later reported to the Rabale Police. “We along with FDA officials, arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection. Then registered a case against the restaurant’s owner, manager, and staff. FDA will do its further investigation,” a police officer from Rabale police station said.
