Viral recipes that ruled 2021 and are these worth a try before the year ends

2021 is almost over, but have you tried some of the craziest food trends that ruled our palates and minds throughout the year? The craze about fad fusion has made us come across some of the most delicious recipes to some of the most gross food experiments, but are the popular trends of this year worth a try. Here’s a list of some of the most popular viral food trends, and see if you have missed out on something.

2/8

Dalgona Candy

The sweet yet creep candy from Squid Games was one of the most tricky food challenges. Dalgona Candy, also known as Ppopgi is a Korean candy made with melted sugar and baking soda. It was a popular street snack in the 1970s and 1980s, and is still eaten as a retro food, but this was popularized by a series Squid Games. The trend was all about preparing the candy, putting a mould and cutting it with a needle to extract the candy within a given time. Did you try this Squid challenge?

3/8

Tortilla Wrap or Chapati wraps

Wraps are delicious, but have you tried it in a viral way? Well, this wonderful viral trend was made by folding a wrap in a smart way. In this a Tortilla or a Chapati was cut from one part of the center, which was filled with a spread, veggies, stuffing and condiments. Fold each layer clockwise by overlapping it, making it like a triangle. This was either grilled or cooked over a pan by flipping the Tortilla pockets and voila! You are ready to enjoy it!

4/8

Vegan Bacon

This year was probably the best year for people who were planning to turn vegan as there were so many amazing alternatives to meats, milk and even crispy bacon. It is not easy to imagine the taste of bacon in any vegetable, but brilliant minds found a solution to that and gave us the Vegan bacon strips, by air frying thin slices of carrots and coating them with spices and giving it all bacony twist!

5/8

Creamy Noodles

From Hakka to noodles to soup ramen, can you imagine it in a creamy form, but 2021 made us witness this as well! It started as a creamy Ramen trend on TikTok in which a creamy white sauce was prepared and boiled ramen was added to it. In India, this was popularized on Youtube and Instagram as Maggin Milkshake, which was a lot similar but the name left netizens furious.

6/8

Whipped Matcha

While the first wave of pandemic made whipped coffee also known as Dalgona a hit among netizens. This year, after learning the hack, this creamy trick was introduced to more trendy drinks like Whipped Matcha, Whipped strawberry drink, Whipped Nutella to even Whipped Lemonade. Which one did you try?

7/8

Minimal ingredient ice creams

While innovations with ice creams are nothing new, lockdown taught us to function with a minimalist approach. This trend was seen in most viral ice cream recipes that ruled the internet during the summer popular ice creams with just 3 ingredients or just by adding milk or condensed milk to crushed biscuits to make popsicles. These sweet trends literally were a treat for sweet lovers.

8/8

Snickles

Popularized by Tiktok, this trend will either kill your love for pickled zucchini or chocolaty snickers bar. The trend was luckily not too popular in India, but certainly ruined the global palates. In this pickle zucchini is sliced and a candy bar or snickers bar is placed inside like a sandwich.
