Navratri special: 3-ingredient health-friendly recipes

Navratri has begun and the festive spirit can be felt everywhere, and if you too are observing fasts, then we have got some healthy and tasty recipes that can be made in just a few minutes that too with just 3 ingredients. So, if you have been ditching sweet treats every Navratri then this festive season make some sweet treats and enjoy!

Berries Kheer

To make this quick kheer recipe, just boil 1litre milk in a pan, keep stirring. Once the milk starts reducing, add cardamom and roasted almonds. Cook the kheer till it turns thick, turn off the flame and a paste of dried berries or else you can add in 1 cup mixed dried berries, refrigerate and serve.

Milk Pista Barfi

Make a quick and delicious Pista Barfi by grinding 1 cup pistachios. In the meantime, boil 1 ½ litre milk, keep stirring the milk till it turns thick. Once the milk starts reducing, add in some stevia as per taste. Then add in the grinded pista along with cardamom powder. Pour the mixture in a tray and grease it nicely. Cut the barfi in desired shapes and enjoy.

Anjeer Sooji Halwa

This halwa recipe is easy to make. Heat a pan and dry roast some sooji (1 cup). Then to the same pan, add ghee and roast dry fruits and nuts and transfer to a plate. In the meantime, soak a ½ cup of anjeer in warm milk, make a paste. To the same pan, add in the roasted sooji, anjeer paste, and roasted dry fruits. Cook the sooji, add ½ teaspoon ghee to add a rich aroma and serve hot!

Dates and Chocolate Ladoo


Prepare a quick and simple ladoo with pitted dates. To begin with soak the dates in a glass of warm water. In the meantime, roast almonds and melon seeds, grind them together. Heat a pan and add in ½ teaspoon ghee, to this add in the grinded powder and toss, then make a paste of dates and add this to nuts powder, lastly add in ½ unsweetened cocoa. Cook the mixture and roll small ladoos.

Dry Fruit and Oats Phirini


To make this simple Phirni, just replace rice with oats, crush oats and keep aside. Boil 1 litre milk and keep stirring. Once the milk starts thickening, add in oats, cardamom powder and saffron strands. Then crush roasted nuts and add to the phirni. To add sweetness make a paste of soaked raisins and add to the phirni, cook for a few minutes.
