Facts about alcohol

Alcohol is NOT safe in any amount. From Ayurveda to medical science, it is suggested to skip alcohol in any form at all costs to live a healthy life. In a recent video on Instagram, Prashant Desai, health educator, Stanford School of Medicine, shared 5 tips for alcohol drinking. The reel video mentions drinking smart, not hard. Eat before you drink


In the video, he mentions to eat before drinking as it will keep your stomach fuller and will reduce the side effects of alcohol.

Drinks for men and women


He further mentions that women should not consume more than one drink and men should not drink more than two drinks. He states that when you go beyond this, alcohol becomes harmful for your health.

The before one, after one rule



He also mentions in the video to drink a glass of water before and after having alcohol. He states that this act will dilute the alcohol in the stomach.

Never mix alcohol


He mentions not to mix different types of alcohol and make a cocktail of beer, whiskey, and any other spirit.

Do not add a mixer

Lastly, he mentions not to mix any mixer with alcohol. Mixers like juice or soda-drink are rich in sugar content and can have adverse effects. He also warns not to drink and drive and stay healthy.
