From boosting brain powder to keeping your diabetes under control, almonds are said to benefit the human body in a number of different ways. Almonds are delicious nuts which can not only jazz up your dishes but also taste equally good as a standalone snack. Read on to know the benefits of almonds and some interesting ways to include them in your diet.

​Benefits of almonds

Almonds contain good amounts of fiber, protein, vitamin E, magnesium and only consuming a handful of them will keep you full for long. They are among the world’s best sources of vitamin E and are said to lower rates of heart disease and cancer. Magnesium keeps a check on blood sugar, which makes almonds a must-have for diabetics. Magnesium also helps in lowering blood pressure, which makes almonds a superfood for high blood pressure patients.

​Almond Smoothie

A fan of healthy shakes and smoothies? Add some almonds to it and make the drink even more nutritious. You can either blend the almonds, make a paste and then add it to your smoothie or just garnish your drink with some crushed almonds.

​Almond Butter

Another super delicious way of eating almonds is by making almond butter. You just need 3-4 cups of roasted almonds and a food processor. Blend them till they get converted to a coarse paste. You can also mix some peanuts in it to make almond-peanut butter. Just store in an airtight jar and it will easily last a month.

If you are into baking cookies and cupcakes, then this one is just for you. You can make some delicious cookies using almond flour and also add crushed almonds in it for added crunch.

​Almond Soup

Winters are here and so is the season of relishing some piping hot soups. Make rich and creamy almond soup and enjoy it on a chilly evening. All you need to do is blend 1/4th cup almonds with a cup of milk and keep it aside. Now saute 2-3 tbsp atta on low flame. Add water and keep stirring it to avoid lumps. Add milk-almond paste and bring to a boil. Now add salt and pepper as per taste. Mixing some pupnkin puree with the soup makes the taste even better. Garnish with fresh cream, chopped roasted almonds and enjoy.

​Breakfast Bowl

Be it cornflakes, oats or porridge, you can just add some crushed almonds to your bowl of breakfast and make it more delicious. Almonds will not only add some extra crunch and flavour to the dish but will also keep you full for long.
