Hyderabad resident ordered 8,428 plates of idli worth Rs 6 lakh in a year

When it comes to comforting and light breakfast options, we often love idlis. And if you are an idli lover, this piece of information is for you. As per the latest report, released by on-demand food platform Swiggy, it has delivered 33 million plates of idlis in the last year. The report also reveals an interesting fact that a single user ordered idlis worth Rs 6 lakh between March 2022-23.
As per reports, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai are the top three cities where idlis are ordered the most.The list includes other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Pune, Vizag, and Kolkata.
The same report from March 30, 2022, to March 25, 2023, states that a single Swiggy user from Hyderabad has ordered 8,428 plates of idlis worth Rs 6 lakh of the fluffy breakfast favourite. The order was placed for friends and family, both while travelling across cities like Bengaluru and Chennai.
The most popular time to order idlis was between 8 am to 10 am.
The report also states that the most popular variant ordered for breakfast was plain idli, followed by rava idli, ghee/neyi karam podi idli, thatte idli, and mini idli across cities.
It is also mentioned that idlis are the second-most ordered breakfast item after masala dosa. Consumers also order sambar, coconut chutney, karampuri, medu vada, tea, and coffee along with idlis, reveals the report.
