How to make masala chaas cubes at home and its benefits

There’s something deeply comforting about a glass of masala chaas on a hot afternoon, that tang, the faint sting of green chilli, the cool breeze of mint. But making it from scratch every time? Not so comforting. Enter masala chaas cubes, the smarter, modern spin on a timeless classic. These frozen flavour pods turn plain curd and water into perfectly spiced buttermilk in seconds. No chopping, no grinding, no fus, just instant freshness on demand. Scroll down to know how to easily make it at home.

2/4

Ingredients required

A handful of fresh coriander and mint leaves, one green chilli, a few curry leaves, and a clove of garlic (optional, but it adds a nice punch). Then come the essentials - roasted jeera powder, black salt, chaat masala, regular salt, and a squeeze of lemon juice. You’ll also need a little water and ice for blending.

3/4

How to make it

In a blender, add the coriander, mint, green chilli, curry leaves, and garlic if you’re using it. Sprinkle over the jeera powder, black salt, chaat masala, and a pinch of regular salt. Squeeze in fresh lemon juice for that sharp, citrusy lift. Now toss in a few ice cubes and a splash of water, just enough to get things moving. Keep checking in between if the mix has blended well till it turns into a thick, aromatic paste that smells like summer. Pour this mix into an ice tray and freeze.

Why this works

These little cubes are convenient for the soul. They save you from chopping herbs or grinding spices every day, yet keep the authentic, homemade taste intact. Every cube carries that same balanced flavour - herbaceous, tangy, a little spicy so your chaas never tastes flat.
