Easiest Malai Kofta Recipe

If you also love indulging in elaborate meals on weekends, then this Malai Kofta recipe is for you. Filled with the goodness of paneer and potato and dry fruits, this one is very comforting and goes well with roti and rice too. Scroll down to read the detailed recipe.

Ingredients


3 boiled potatoes, 1/2 cup grated paneer, 2 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp raisins, 2 tbsp chopped cashews, salt to taste, and oil for frying

For gravy: 2 tbsp butter or oil, 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 cup fresh cream, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 1 tsp sugar, and fresh coriander

To begin with, mix mashed potatoes, paneer, cornflour, and salt. Make sure the mixture is smooth.

Shape the mixture into mini balls, add a few raisins and cashews in the center, and close them.

Deep fry them until golden brown and keep aside on a paper towel.

Now, heat butter or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden and also add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

Add in tomato puree and cook until oil separates. Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook the masala well.

Now, add the fresh cream and a little water to adjust consistency. Let it simmer for a few minutes, then add garam masala and a pinch of sugar for balance.

Lastly, add the fried koftas, garnish with coriander leaves and a drizzle of cream. Enjoy!
