Tips to make Kashmiri Kahwa right

Kashmiri Kahwa is a traditional green tea. It is cherished for its delicate aroma, warming nature, and cultural significance and uses green tea leaves, saffron strands, crushed cardamom, cinnamon, and almonds in its preparation. Traditionally, it is enjoyed after meals in winter for its warming, digestive benefits and soothing aroma. Scroll down to read the recipe.

Ingredients


2 cups water, 1 tsp green tea leaves, 4–5 saffron strands, 2 green cardamom pods, 1 small cinnamon stick, 1–2 tsp honey or sugar, and 6–8 thinly sliced almonds

Step 1


First of all, add water to a saucepan and bring water to a gentle boil.

Now, add saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes.

Step 3


Switch off the heat and add the green tea leaves. Steep for 1–2 minutes and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Now, strain the tea into cups and add honey or sugar as per taste.

Garnish with sliced almonds and serve warm with cookies or bun. Enjoy!
