What is sago

Sago is a food that is eaten world over, and is a staple in some parts, where people cook it into delicious recipes. Sago, or sabudana as Indians know it, is starch that has been extracted from tapioca roots, and is sieved in heavy pressure to form small rounded starch aggregates known as pearls. Due to its limited nutritional and high starch content, sago is often disavowed as a healthy food, which is why it is often accompanied with other nutritional foods.
