Foods for muscle recovery

During a tough workout session, chances are you end up with a strain in your muscles. Lifting heavy weights and the physical exertion one puts their body through while working out is quite strenuous for the muscles and it is very important that we give our body the time and the nutrients that are required for muscle recovery before working out again, the next day. A protein-rich diet aids in quick and easy muscle recovery. Recovery diets focus on rebuilding, repairing, and of course refueling. Getting enough carbs, and proteins and drinking lots of water is the secret behind a quicker muscle recovery. Here is a list of things that one can add to their recovery meal. ​Paneer

Cottage cheese aka paneer is full of casein, making it the best source of whey protein out there. Casein enables your muscles to recover even while you’re fast asleep and thus having paneer as a recovery meal not only sounds yummy but healthy as well! ​Eggs

Eggs are a powerhouse of proteins. Apart from being a great source of protein, they are also super rich in nutrients, making them the ideal food to have for quick muscle recovery. The amino acids present in an egg help in rebuilding muscle tissues. A handful of nuts has the key to a healthy recovery. Probably the easiest way out is having assorted nuts as one doesn’t even need to prepare a meal for this! On days when you feel like you are too tired to whip something up, have some nuts along with milk and you are good to go.
