Must-try Eid delicacies

Eid al-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," is celebrated after a month of fasting during Ramadan. It is a time of gratitude, family gatherings, and indulging in sweet and savory dishes. After a month-long Ramadan fasting, people of Muslim community celebrate the day with Eid ki Namaz, followed by a feast prepared at home. Eid ki Namaz is a significant part of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, performed in congregation on the morning of Eid. It is a way for Muslims to express gratitude to Allah, seek blessings, and celebrate the joyous occasion. From Seviyan to Mutton Biryani, the list of delicacies enjoyed on this day is endless. Manti is native to Turkey, Central Asia and refers to small, steamed or boiled dumplings filled with spiced meat, usually served with yogurt and garlic sauce.

Native to UAE and Gulf countries, Lukaimat refers to golden, crispy fried dumplings drizzled with date syrup or honey. These Emirati sweet treats are similar to doughnuts and are loved during Eid celebrations.

Mrouzia


This dish is native to Morocco and refers to a fragrant lamb dish cooked with saffron, honey, almonds, and cinnamon. It offers both sweet and savory flavours, making it a unique Eid delicacy.

Bakarkhani


This dish is famous in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India and refers to a thick, flaky, and slightly sweet bread often paired with rich curries like Nihari and Korma.It is made with refined flour, sooji, sugar, salt, ghee, baking powder, milk, and is topped with sesame seeds and cardamom.

Tufahija


It is a unique dessert made of poached apples stuffed with walnuts and sugar, which is then topped with whipped cream. This Bosnian treat is a special Eid delight, which is also famous in Herzegovina.
