Party snacks made with boiled rajma

Rajma, or kidney beans, is a nutritious legume packed with plant-based protein, fiber, and essential minerals. While they are popularly consumed as a curry along with steamed rice, they make for a power-packed combo with other foods and make for delectable party treats too. According to the USDA data, 100 g of kidney beans offers around 24.9 g of dietary fiber. Their high fiber content aids digestion, promotes satiety, and helps regulate blood sugar levels as well. Here we have curated a list of seven unique and creative party snacks made with boiled rajma that will brighten your Diwali party.

2/8

Rajma Galouti Kebab

It is a vegetarian twist on the classic Lucknowi kebab, where mashed rajma is mixed with roasted gram flour, caramelized onions, and aromatic spices and are shaped into kebabs, which are shallow-fried until crisp outside and melt-in-mouth inside. They are best served with mint chutney and pickled onions.

3/8

Mini Rajma Tacos

Take crispy mini taco shells and fill them with spiced rajma filling, topped with diced onions, tomatoes, cheese, and a drizzle of sour cream or hung curd dip. A fusion snack that’s a crowd-pleaser for a Diwali party.

4/8

Rajma Chaat Bites

Take boiled rajma and toss with tamarind chutney, sev, chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander, and a sprinkle of chaat masala. Serve in small papdi cups or tart shells for a tangy, bite-sized treat.

5/8

Rajma & Paneer Skewers

Simply mash rajma with crumbled paneer, herbs, and spices; shape into small tikkis or balls. Skewer and grill with bell peppers and onions. Top them with butter and lemon juice before serving.

6/8

Rajma Falafel Balls

This Diwali, replace chickpeas with rajma to create an Indian-Mediterranean crossover and make these Rajma Falafel Balls. Deep-fry or air-fry and serve with garlic tahini dip or mint yogurt sauce. These are perfect for cocktails or mezze platters.

7/8

Rajma Stuffed Kulcha Pockets

To make this, take mini kulchas or pita pockets and stuff them with spicy rajma masala, cheese, and onions, toast until warm and gooey. Slice into halves for easy party serving.

8/8

Rajma Nacho Bake

This exotic dish is loved by kids and is made by layering nachos with spicy rajma, cheese, jalapeños, and salsa, which is baked until bubbly. Top it with sour cream and spring onions. Enjoy it warm!.
