Both eggs and milk are packed with the goodness of healthy fats, proteins, amino acids and the goodness of calcium, which is needed for the development and better functioning of the body and brain. As per Ayurveda, it is believed that consuming two forms of protein at the same time can impact digestion and cause bloating, discomfort, stomach ache and even diarrhea. Should you eat eggs and milk together?

Eating eggs with milk has always been a matter of debate, while some say it is good for boosting muscle health, whereas others believe that this amalgamation can cause discomfort in digestion and even trigger skin infections in some cases. However, mixing eggs and milk for baking and cooking has no side effects; rather the amalgamation of two can naturally boost the health quotient and improve the taste and texture of the food. However, eating or mixing raw eggs is a strict ‘No’ as it may pose several health issues.

What experts suggest?

Experts suggest that eating or mixing raw or uncooked eggs with milk can simply trigger digestive ailments, affect digestion and may cause diseases like Salmonella. This practice of combining milk and raw eggs can cause food poisoning as well as biotin deficiency, this happens when the proteins in the egg bind with the biotin compounds and hampers the absorption in the body.

This is why mixing raw eggs with milk is a bad idea. People who are trying to build muscles often consume raw eggs and milk for faster development of muscles and body, but this can also increase their risk of cholesterol in the long run. Thus, if you are actually seeking to build a strong body and improve overall health it is best to consume cooked eggs and milk, but make sure if you want to avoid any issues with digestion and gut health, then make sure you keep a gap of an hour between the consumption of two types of protein.
