What is Sattu and Buttermilk protein shake?

Two days ago, when Shilpa Shetty shared her refreshing protein-rich Sattu drink recipe, the netizens went gaga over it. The social media saw a spike in #sattudrink as people started trying the recipe because of its nutritional value. On Saturday evening, Bollywood's handsome hunk Ayushmann Khurrana also shared a post, where he talked about Sattu protein shake with a twist of buttermilk. In this post, Ayushmann Khurrana can be seen taking a drink in a coffee mug.

In his latest Instagram post he has written that by dissolving sattu with buttermilk (whey), it acts as a natural protein shake. Along with this, he has also thanked Deepika Rathore and Luke Coutinho for telling the recipe. More than 10 lakh people have liked this post of Ayushman Khurana so far.

Sattu and Buttermilk combination

Sattu is considered a nutritious food. It is a rich source of protein that when dissolved in water and taken with salt, jaggery or sugar helps build the body. According to health experts, it is rich in protein, fibre, calcium, iron, manganese and magnesium, every 100 grams of this superfood contains 65 percent carbohydrate and 20 percent protein. Every 245 ml of buttermilk contains 8 grams of protein. It also contains good bacteria and lactic acid, due to which it is also very beneficial for the digestive system. That's why people like to take buttermilk during the summer.

​How to make Sattu and Buttermilk Protein Shake?

All you need to do is, take 4 tbsp of sattu in a glass and add 300 ml of plain or masala buttermilk. Adjust salt, pepper and roasted cumin powder. Stir well and drink one glass daily.
