The World's 50 Best

For more than 2 decades, the prestigious 50 Best rankings have been a benchmark in global gastronomy. It is a celebration of exceptional restaurants across the globe. Curated by UK-based William Reed Business Media, these rankings spotlight culinary excellence through region-specific lists for Asia, the Middle East & North Africa, Latin America, and North America.

As part of its 2025 edition, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has unveiled its extended list, featuring restaurants ranked from 51st to 100th. Let us look at the restaurants that were featured in the list.

​Gaggan, Thai​land​

Gaggan, crowned Asia’s best restaurant in 2025, is renowned for its avant-garde approach to fine dining, blending progressive Indian cuisine with global influences. Accepting the award in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday evening, chef Anand Gaggan said, “From the beginning, our restaurant has been about more than just me—it’s about Asia. Everyone here is a winner. Today, I stand on the podium, but next time, it could be any one of us from this region.”

​The Chairman and Wing, Hong Kong​

The Chairman and Wing claimed second and third place, respectively, each climbing two spots from last year’s fourth and fifth positions. Adding to the accolades, Wing’s chef Vicky Cheng (ranked No. 3) was also honored with the prestigious peer-voted Chefs’ Choice Award.

​Sézanne, Japan​

Led by British chef Daniel Calvert, this neo-French restaurant made an immediate impression when it opened in July 2021 on the seventh floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. Blending modern French techniques with deep-rooted Asian influences, it quickly captivated diners with its immersive and thoughtfully crafted dining experience.

Mingles was placed fifth place in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings. By blending local ingredients with global techniques, it earned the title of Korea’s top-rated restaurant.
