Smart ways to use microwave

The microwave is one kitchen gadget that has made cooking easier and simpler. From fuss-free rice to no-mess curry, one can make any dish in this machine without spending much time. But did you know that it can be used for many other kitchen activities other than cooking? In a recent video on Instagram, MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria shared some simple things that one can do in a microwave other than cooking. Scroll down to find out.

Boil potatoes


Prick the washed potatoes using a fork, cling them in foil and microwave for 4 minutes.

Refresh the dough


Refrigerated dough is often hard in texture, one can use the microwave to soften it as well. Just place the dough in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds.

Juice citrus fruits



To get maximum juice out of citrus fruits like lemon, cut it two halves and microwave for 30 seconds and then juice them to get maximum juice.

Poach the egg



Break an egg in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave it for 30 seconds and your poached egg is ready.

Peel garlic




Simply wrap the garlic pods in a cling foil and microwave for 30 seconds and your garlic is ready.

Wash and place the leafy greens on the microwave tray and microwave for 2 min and store them in an airtight container. You can try this trick to make Kasuri Methi at home.

Simply sprinkle water on dry bread and then microwave it for just 15 seconds.

Wash, peel and slice the veggies like beetroot, potato, and carrot. Place them on the greased microwave tray and microwave for just 4 minutes and your no-fry chips are ready.

Simply spread the nuts and seeds on a microwave tray and microwave them for a minute. They are ready to be enjoyed.
