Fresh fruits, vegetables and lean proteins keep more nutrients than foods that have been processed or packaged. For the best taste and nutrition, pick fruits and vegetables that are in season.

Opt for Healthy Cooking Methods


Choose healthy cooking methods like steaming, grilling and baking with little oil to keep nutrients and cut down on extra fat. Steaming vegetables, for instance, keeps their vitamins intact and grilling chicken adds flavor without adding calories.

Add a lot of different foods



A plate with a lot of colors is usually a healthy plate. To make sure your meals have a lot of different nutrients, add a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins.

Use Healthy Fats in Moderation


Nuts, seeds, olive oil, and avocados are all good sources of fats that are good for your heart and brain. When you can use these healthier options instead of butter.
