But, there are days when you are bored of eating the same dish and don't know how to be innovative; that's when it is concerning. Dal Paratha


Simply use the leftover dal to knead a dough along with some carom seeds and kasuri methi, roll out parathas and cook on a tawa. One can also dry up the dal in a pan and make it a stuffing and then fill the dough with it, roll the parathas and cook.

Dal Paniyaram


All you need to do is combine leftover dal with sooji and a tadka of curry leaves and mustard seeds. Add a pinch of baking soda and your batter is ready. Pour the batter in the cavities of the paniyaram pan, cook, and enjoy.

Dal Kofta


Add besan, chopped onion and some paneer to leftover dal, shape into kofta balls and deep fry. Dunk these balls in onion-tomato gravy, add some cream on top and enjoy with roti or rice.

Dal Fried Rice


For this, make a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chillies, add leftover dal tadka, dry it up a bit, and then add leftover dal. Top it with some garam masala, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Enjoy!

Add some besan and sooji to the leftover dal. Combine well and add some curd and salt to adjust the consistency and taste. Cook the cheela on a preheated greased tawa and enjoy with green chutney.

Dal Stuffed Capsicum


Take thick leftover dal, add some onions and blanched corns to it. Now, use it as a stuffing with some spices like paprika, oregano, and chilli flakes. Fill capsicum halves and then bake or pan-cook until perfect. Enjoy with roti or rice.

Add mashed potatoes and bread crumbs to leftover dal, shape them into tikkis and the shallow fry in ghee. Enjoy it with salad on the side.

Dal Soup


Simply blend the leftover dal in a blender and then cook it with a tempering of butter, garlic, and chilli. Add 2-3 cups of water, bring it to a boil and serve hot with a topping of ghee or butter and bread sticks on the side.
