Health benefits of Bamboo Shoots

Also known as 'The Poor Man's Timber and ‘The Green Gold’, bamboo shoots are known for innumerable medicinal properties. From pickles to drinks, they are used widely in North-Eastern cuisine in many ways. Also known as bamboo sprouts, they are available in fresh, fermented and canned form. ​Good for the heart​

​Helpful in weight loss​

​Antivenomous​


The juice of bamboo shoots is very effective against poisoning of snakes, scorpion and bites from other venomous creatures. As per Ayurveda, drinking fresh bamboo juice and applying it on the wound helps in flushing out the poison. However, one should always first take medical supervision in case of snake bite.
