Christmas and New Year party season is around the corner and the idea of having a grazing table at a house party is always good for guests to handle the hunger pangs. And the shift towards homemade dishes and condiments has given us the scope to think beyond the obvious. So, this season, if you are thinking of adding some interesting condiments, then forget the regular store-bought hummus, and try these desi style hummus preparations that are healthy and delicious too. For the unversed, hummus is a Middle Eastern dip, made with boiled chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. It is rich in plant-based protein, fiber, and healthy fats and is served with pita, vegetables, crackers, sandwiches, and even bread sticks. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus


This one is quite smoky and to make it you have to roast the red bell pepper over a flame, and then blend along with boiled chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, salt and olive oil. Top it with some paprika or red chilli powder and enjoy with snacks of your choice.

Avocado Hummus
