6 Common fruits that have the highest amount of fiber

Since ages, we have been told about the numerous benefits of consuming fruits daily, but you will be amazed to know that just by eating the right fruits you can give your diet a balance of nutrients like antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Dietary fiber is a type of carbohydrate that the body cannot digest. Unlike other carbs, fiber passes through the digestive system mostly intact. It plays several vital roles in maintaining health, including promoting digestive regularity, preventing constipation, controlling blood sugar levels, supporting heart health, and aiding in weight management. Fiber also nourishes beneficial gut bacteria, which in turn support immune function and mental well-being.

2/7

Pears

A medium-sized pear contains about 5 to 6 grams of fiber, especially when eaten with the skin on. Pears are particularly high in a type of soluble fiber called pectin, which helps lower cholesterol and control blood sugar levels. Their soft texture and sweet flavor make them an easy addition to any diet.

3/7

Bananas

Bananas provide about 3 grams of fiber per medium fruit. They are a good source of resistant starch (especially when slightly green), a type of fiber that acts as a prebiotic, feeding the healthy bacteria in the gut. Bananas also provide potassium, which supports heart and muscle function.

4/7

Apples

Apples offer around 4 grams of fiber per medium fruit, again with the skin providing most of the benefit. They contain both soluble and insoluble fiber, which aids digestion and helps maintain healthy bowel movements. Apples are also hydrating and low in calories, making them a weight-loss-friendly snack.

5/7

Avocados

Though technically a fruit, avocados are rich in healthy fats and fiber, offering about 10 grams per cup. Their high fiber content, particularly soluble fiber, helps with cholesterol control and blood sugar balance. Avocados are also extremely versatile, used in both savory and sweet dishes.

6/7

Figs

Figs, both fresh and dried, are fiber powerhouses. One cup of dried figs contains over 14 grams of fiber. They're also rich in calcium, potassium, and antioxidants. Figs help promote healthy digestion and can act as a natural remedy for constipation.

7/7

Raspberries

Raspberries are one of the most fiber-rich fruits available. Just one cup provides around 8 grams of fiber. They are also packed with antioxidants, vitamins C and K, and manganese. The seeds contribute significantly to their fiber content, making them great for improving digestion and promoting satiety.

Very poorly prepared article, not expected of Times. Apple is repeated and pictures are wrongly depicted!
