Must try teas during winters

There is nothing more comforting than a cup of piping hot tea on a chilly winter day. With cold winds blowing outside and sun hiding behind the clothes, only a cup of tea brings the much-needed warmth. A freshly brewed cup of tea not only gives warmth to your body but also benefits in several other ways. From boosting immunity and treating cold to detoxifying the body and keeping gut healthy, the below given teas will become your all time favourite, once you try them.

​Lemon and pepper tea

This tangy tea will not only help your body detox but will also lower blood pressure and boost immunity. A dash on black pepper in it will fight minor ailments and also provide relief to a scratchy throat.

For this tea, start by boiling a cup of water. Add the juice of one whole lemon along with 1/4th tsp of black pepper powder. You can also add a pinch of turmeric for added benefit. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes and pour in a cup. If you want it on the sweeter side, a tsp of honey too can be added.

​Ashwagandha tea

Ashwagandha has not only been proven beneficial for your immunity but also helps in stabilising blood sugar and reduces anxiety. For this herbal tea, all you need is a 3-4 inch piece of Ashwagandha root. Just take a cup of water and Adhwagandha root in a pan and let it boil for 10-15 minutes. Once done, strain and mix 1 tsp honey in it. Enjoy the flavourful tea.

​Cinnamon and tulsi tea

Tulsi, also known as holy basil is said to be an amazing blood cleanser. It also decongests the chest and provides relief from sore throat. Cinnamon on the other hand has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and also fights against common infections. For this tea, just boil a cup of water along with 8-10 tulsi leaves in it. You can add either a cinnamon stick or cinnamon powder while the water is boiling. Also add a pinch of turmeric for added colour. Once done strain into a cup. You can also add a tsp of honey and lemon juice for added flavour.

​Ginger and mint tea

Fresh mint not only adds extra aroma to your tea but also aids in digestion and bid goodbye to stomach woes. Ginger on the other hand is a winter favourite, as it clears blood, detoxifies the body and also relieves cold symptoms.

In order to make this tea, boil a cup of water along with 6-8 mint leaves and 1 tbsp grated ginger. You can also add diced ginger but grating the ginger helps in releasing the juice. Let the tea boil and then simmer for 4-5 minutes. Strain and drink while it's hot.

​Masala chai

Last but not the least, the classic masala chai. For this, first you need to grind 2 cloves, 1 small cinnamon stick, 2 black peppers and 2 green cardamoms together. Now take a pan, add two cups of water along with tea leaves and let it boil. Now add the masala powder, sugar and milk, according to your taste. Let it simmer for 5 minutes on medium flame. Once done, strain the chai and enjoy it piping hot.
