Shilajit is a popular Ayurvedic herb, which is full of medicinal properties. Whenever we talk about Shilajit, people associate it with sexual function and disorders, as is believed to contain several bioactive compounds, such as fulvic acid and dibenzo-alpha-pyrones, which may help to improve testosterone levels, increase sperm count and motility, and enhance sexual performance. But, many don’t know that this herb has been used in in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to promote overall health and well-being such as removing stress and fatigue, strengthening the immune system, improving skin, etc. This herb is traditionally consumed with milk or water, but there is a lot of inaccurate information present on the web today using which people consume this herb with other foods as well. Citrus fruits

Experts suggest that Shilajit should never be taken with citrus fruits as they are rich in vitamin C and known to be acidic in nature. Eating Shilajit and citrus fruits together can cause indigestion and acidity.

When consuming Shilajit and milk together, make sure to avoid consuming meat or fish. If you eat meat with milk and Shilajit, it can lead to indigestion and skin diseases.

There are people, who consume Shilajit powder mixed with water and honey for improved taste. But, what they don’t know is that this combination can lead to a build-up of toxins in the body which can cause skin problems.

If you are taking Shilajit with milk, then avoid consuming radish during this time. Consuming radish, Shilajit and milk together can cause digestive and skin problems. That's why it is very important to avoid it.

These days, one can easily find the Shilajit tablets and capsules which are consumed with warm milk for instant energy and relief from fatigue. Most people consume this herb in the form of powder, by mixing it with milk. But, there are other ways of consuming this herb too! Apart from milk, this herb can be consumed with ghee and honey to get the best benefits.
