3 ways regular tea can be tweaked to help ease bloating

Bloating is a common concern, which often leads to digestive issues and discomfort. Most people stick to medications and instant relief supplements, but is it safe to consume these store bought solutions every time? Well, if you too rely on medication to ease bloating and sudden uneasiness, then we have got your back to make your regular tea into a bloating relief remedy. Well, here are three ways you can tweak your regular tea for a quick relief from bloating

2/5

Why does it happen?

Bloating is a common digestive issue caused by the buildup of gas in the stomach and intestines, which leads to uneasiness and pain. There may be several reasons that lead to bloating such as spicy oily foods, processed meats or even excessive intake caffeine, unhealthy lifestyle to name a few. Here are a few simple ways to tweak regular tea into a bloating relief drink.

3/5

Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds are commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional remedies to relieve digestive issues, including flatulence. These seeds contain anethole, a compound that helps relax the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and reduces bloating. Fennel also has a carminative effect, meaning it can help expel gas from the digestive system. To transform your regular tea into an anti-flatulence drink, add a teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds to your tea leaves as they steep. Alternatively, you can steep fennel seeds separately and then mix the infusion with your tea for added digestive benefits.

4/5

Add Ginger

Adding ginger can change your digestion game, this is because ginger is one of the most well-known natural remedies for digestive discomfort, including flatulence. It contains compounds like gingerol and shogaol, which can stimulate digestion, reduce bloating, and help alleviate gas. Adding fresh ginger to your regular tea can boost its ability to reduce flatulence. Simply slice a small piece of fresh ginger root and steep it in your tea along with the leaves. You can also add powdered ginger if fresh ginger is unavailable. The spicy, warming properties of ginger help in relaxing the gastrointestinal muscles and preventing the buildup of gas.

5/5

Cumin

Cumin seeds, often used in traditional cooking, are a great addition to tea that helps ease gas and bloating. Cumin boosts the release of digestive enzymes, which can improve digestion and reduce gas. It also has anti-inflammatory effects that soothe the gut. To use cumin in tea, add half a teaspoon of seeds while brewing. Lightly toasting the seeds first brings out their natural oils, adding more flavour and health benefits to your tea.
