Coffee and brain health

Coffee is a popular beverage and is often considered to be a perfect go-to morning fix. Did you know that it is also a powerful ally for brain health when consumed mindfully. Coffee is rich in caffeine, antioxidants, and bioactive compounds, improve focus, mood, memory, and even reduce the risk of certain neurological diseases. As per a research article in The Journals of Gerontology, men consuming coffee experienced less cognitive decline over a 10-year span compared to non-consumers, suggesting a protective effect of coffee against age-related cognitive deterioration. Also, a study published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease observed that higher coffee consumption is associated with slower cognitive decline in executive function and attention over a 126-month period. In a recent video on Instagram, Robert W.B. Love, who runs a health and wellness website, mentioned three things that one can add to coffee to boost brain health. Scroll down to find the details.

MCT Oil


It refers to Medium-Chain Triglycerides. He suggests ditching the dairy and adding MCT oil to your offee. It's basically coconut oil on steroids, he says. He adds that your liver will take MCT oil and turn into what's called ketone bodies that basically becomes energy for the brain. As per studies those who drink MCT oil with coffee, they lose weight and have better cognitive functioning. It also supports fat metabolism and energy without the crash.

Cinnamon



It is said to use Ceylon cinnamon for better results, as it improves blood flow to the brain, enhances concentration, and also helps regulate blood sugar, preventing energy crashes. Cinnamon also helps slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, which may reduce blood sugar spikes from coffee or breakfast carbs.
