Editor's Pick: The best menswear looks at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI

The first fashion week of the season came to a close in Mumbai. While there were some major trends that were spotted in womenswear, there were some extremely talented menswear designers who showed us what men's fashion should look like. From Two Point Two by Anvita Sharma, to Koytoy Kunaal Kyhaan, to Dhruv Vaish, here are some of the best looks for men spotted at the fashion week.
2/6

Two Point Two by Anvita Sharma

Two Point Two by Anvita Sharma was the best show of the season with her smart layering and oversized silhouettes leaving the onlookers in awe of her work. The label took its inspiration from the Shu-Ha-Ri philosophy of Japanese martial arts. Bringing together all the teachings of Shu-Ha-Ri into the collection, there was a great amalgamation of Japanese streetwear that combined energy, creativity, and individuality in the looks. Keeping the sustainable aspect of the garments firmly in focus, Anvita worked with R|Elan™ high performance, eco-friendly fabrics like Kooltex, Greengold and EcoGold.

3/6

Dhruv Vaish

Fashion designer Dhruv Vaish brought forward a fresh perspective in design with his new collection titled Magic Shop. He toyed with satin and made it look fabulous on male models. A hint of pink here and there made his collection bolder and more fun for the discerning men who wants to stand out in the crowd.

Koytoy by Kunaal Kyhaan

Kunaal made his debut this season and made a strong case for vacation clothing with his Maharaja by the Bay collection. The designer included smart print play and plush fabrics making it more wearable and dandy. His collection was about silhouettes that flow freely around the body and can move effortlessly from dawn to dusk. He used satin cotton, crepe, pure/raw silk, buttery modal satins, and soft viscose blends along with hints of leather. There was a variety of detailing from cane weave to jewel embellishments, appliqués, prints, crochet weaving and Bandhani.

Line Outline by Deepit Chug

Colour blocking and top stitching were the highlights of designer Deepit Chug's collection. Deepit took inspiration from Streamline Moderne – an Art Deco form that had caused quite a disruption in the world of fashion and architecture. The jacket worn by his showstopper Shantanu Maheshwari featured intricate trailing with matted fabric strips.

6/6

Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra had a spectacular grand finale with 102 models in various shapes and sizes walk for his Diffuse collection. It presented prints inspired by iconic games in androgynous styles having a blast alongside a high-octane colour palette of stark blacks, electric purples, shocking neons!
