As is the tradition with families, mothers typically share their valuable jewels with their daughters and daughters-in-law. Princess Diana, the first wife of Charles III, loved herself some lustrous pearls and sparkling sapphires. The late Princess of Wales divided her jewellery among her sons in her will, with the intention of their wives wearing it in the future. Thus, both Kate and Meghan inherited a set of jewelled pieces from their mother-in-law. Here are 5 stunning ones that were passed down from Princess Diana to Meghan Markle.

Informally known as Princess Diana's divorce ring, this ring was spotted on Markle's finger on her wedding day back in 2018. For an evening reception at Frogmore House, the newlywed donned a white halter-neck gown and added the "something blue" to her finger. The aquamarine gemstone at the centre of the ring was gifted to the People's Princess Diana by Lucia Flecha de Lima and later turned into a ring by Asprey in 1996.

In the 1980s, Princess Diana was often seen wearing a gold butterfly necklace with matching earrings. Now, Markle is often spotted wearing the gold, diamond and likely sapphire studs. She first wore them during the couple's royal visit to Australia and again in 2024 during their visit to Colombia.
