Celebrating South Asian craftsmanship like no other

With everything from sequins to theatric displays on the carpet remind us that the other side of fashion is chaos, Sanam Saeed of 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' fame entered the chaotic domain of the Cannes 2026 red carpet and proved to be the most regal amongst the bunch. With Hussain Rehar couture, she embraced the art of luxurious understatement and made her debut unforgettable.

Incorporating traditional craftsmanship seamlessly

Saeed made a customised couture debut by Pakistan’s Hussain Rehar. The voluminous look was inspired by the ethereal beauty of unique white peacocks, which conveyed a subtle feminine energy. The silhouette came in with intricate Mukaish work, with zardozi embroidery, mirror detailing, and delicate hand embellishments with subtle shimmery detail, which shone brightly under the Cannes lights.

A vision that took 2,300 hours

The couture merely took more than 2,300 hours of craftsmanship by nearly 50 artisans, making it one of the most detail-orientated South Asian fashion moments witnessed at the festival this year. She managed to give it emotional and cultural depth; she embraced her grounded South Asian beauty elements and mesmerised everyone with just one glimpse.

Making regality look dangerously beautiful

She adorned her hair with fresh gajra and wore a pair of ear cuffs and a statement maang tikka, heritage-inspired jewellery, with regal softness. Carrying the perfect blend of tradition with a modern edge, her look felt intentional, deeply personal, and subtly celebrated desi aesthetics on fashion’s biggest global stages like a pro. So, did you love her debut appearance at Cannes this year? Do let us know in the comments below.
