Alia Bhatt’s weekend fashion flip

There are fashion moments, and then there are fashion narratives mostly set by Bollywood’s leading ladies in India. This weekend, Alia Bhatt took the lead, delivering grace and absolute poise in striking, contrasting tales of black and white. These looks softly unfolded from romantic to powerful notes, with sharply tailored and unapologetic vibes. The diva attended and hosted an award show, where she stood out in these sharp looks. Let’s decode her ensembles together.

2/6

Throwing an androgynous tux glam

She stood tall and confident in a customised black three-piece tuxedo from Gaurav Gupta’s collection, channelling absolute ‘boss’ vibe energy. Departing from her usual ‘girl-next-door’ era, Alia entered the business of sophisticated and androgynous aesthetics, which looked appealing and absolutely iconic. Her suit came with gorgeous lapels, where she seamlessly added a waistcoat underneath and matched its prowess with flare-cut trousers, which elongated her frame.

A hint of white peeking through it

This all-black look had a hint of white, as she wore a crisp white shirt underneath, a skinny black tie, and a stunning diamond-encrusted hexagon tie lapel, which looked like the cherry on a cake. Ditching any other high jewellery, she kept this grounded yet luxurious look for the red carpet and topped it up with bouncy waves, which looked like modern contemporary art.

Turning the plate in gorgeous white mogras

Alia quietly steered away from the usual embellished gowns and brought a refreshing ivory saree to the carpet, which felt elegant, breezy, and fashion-forward in all manners. She wore a customised Gaurav Gupta mogra saree, which was drenched in fluid satin fabric and came with a delicate mogra-adorned border. Understanding the notion of ‘less is more’, she teamed the look with a structured bralette with a plunging neckline, which added the bold edge gradually.

Minimal yet impactful accessories

Alia embraced the concept of minimalism at the red carpet, which is usually a rare scene, and opted for a single standout piece, which was a diamond choker. Keeping the focus on her neckline and outfit, she touched old-school glam and completed the look with stobe-like studs with clean aesthetics. Leaving her hair tossed in a middle parting, she completed the dressing with dewy skin, flushed cheeks, and her signature muted lips.

Reinvented monochrome dressing like no other

Her mogra tassels whispered old-world femininity, whereas the commanding presence of her three-piece tux positioned Alia’s great vision in the fashion world. Always playing with different silhouettes and aesthetics, each look had an absolute intention and was almost cinematic. In a fashion landscape obsessed with excess, this black-and-white diary might be filled with restraint, but it surely said everything without even trying too hard, and we absolutely loved it.
