Hema Malini accepted the Padma Vibhushan Award on behalf of her late husband, legendary actor Dharmendra, at the Padma Awards 2026, which were held in New Delhi on May 25. This prestigious honour comes months after the actor’s death in November 2025. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of the President of India Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
