Indian brides and grooms don't leave a stone unturned to make a style statement on their big day and why not, the wedding ensembles have to be special considering the fact that the big day is going to be documented for posterity. While it's always fun to see brides go quirky, but Indian grooms are taking wedding fashion a notch up by picking up the most unique outfits for their weddings and we came across one such groom, whose wedding day look is setting Instagram on fire.
Groom Arvind Grewal wore the most unique old green sherwani for his Anandkaraj.
The manarkali (or men's anarkali) sherwani featured a hand-pleated silk jacket showcasing a dabbi jaal using antique sippi and hand crafted marodi embroidery border featuring a royal elephant procession derived from an archival textile. He paired it It was with a hand printed chanderi silk anarkali angrakha and churidar, and hand crafted chanderi mul stole.
The unqiue ensemble was courtesy Rimple and Harpreet Narula and it reminded us of a Sabyasachi manarkali Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh wore for his Mehendi ceremony.
The manarkali is basically a long, frock-style kurta which features a slim fitted bottom and is derived from the word, Anarkali which literally means the 'delicate bud of the pomegranate flower.
Arvind's pretty wife Shania Bhatti donned a handloom leheriya chanderi silk lehenga from the same designer. The lehenga featured a melange of motifs- delicate floral sprays found in Pichwai paintings, baroque chandeliers and fantastical birds of paradise; all rendered in fine zardozi using kasab, gotta and hand cut sequins. She paired it with an embroidered silk blouse and silk organza dupattas in hues of burnished red and cinnamon.
