A fairly tale beginning for Delhi Times Fashion Week 2023

With flowy silhouettes, elegant prints and a mix of formal, casual wear and glam outfits for summer soirees, the day one of Delhi Times Fashion Week (DTFW), presented by Obello Life, powered by DANJ Entertainment & co-powered by Cantabil, kicked off at The Grand, New Delhi, on Wednesday.
Travel tales - Rajdeep Ranawat

Designer Rajdeep Ranawat’s show, presented by Raaj K Aesthetics, was a mix of cultures – from Rajasthan’s Rabari tribe, African tribes and Uzbekistan craft.“I have always believed in comfortable clothing, and that is why my collection had easy-flowing silhouettes. It was inspired by my travels,” he said.
Dazzling designs - Ashfaque Ahmad

Designer Ashfaque Ahmad’s collection was designed keeping summer weddings and parties in mind. While tassels were used in the outfits to add some bling, the embroidery was subtle in most designs. “Delhi is famous for bling, and that is what I showcased,” said Ashfaque.
He added, “It’s always nice to work with the team at DTFW, this has been a long association.”

Handloom Heritage - Dr Itirani Samanta

Designer Dr Itirani Samanta showcased for the first time at DTFW. Her collection, Shephalee, was an ode to Odia craft techniques.“The collection mostly has saris and lehengas, but each piece combines different craft techniques from different regions of Odisha. I want to encourage weavers by taking their work to bigger platforms,” said the designer, adding, “I feel very happy that I got to be here at DTFW.”
Glitter glam- Silky Nanda

Designer Silky Nanda had a range of cocktail gowns and flowy dresses embellished with sequins. From shimmery and silver to fiery orange and black, she experimented with many shades. The designer said, “My glitzy collection includes glamourous gowns, short dresses and pantsuits that are perfect for dinners and cocktail parties.”
