Happy Pongal 2024: Images, Wishes, Messages, Quotes, Pictures and Greeting Cards

Pongal is a hugely popular harvest festival celebrated in South India, especially in the states Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The four-day festival is celebrated each year around mid-January and is dedicated to the Sun God. Pongal marks the beginning of Uttarayan, wherein the Sun starts moving North. Hence it is considered to be an auspicious day.

The word Pongal means “spilling over” which signifies abundance and prosperity. On this day, people traditionally cook a sweet dish by boiling rice and milk in a pot until it starts overflowing. They also prepare special dishes, clean and decorate their homes by making colourful rangolis, and thank the Sun God for a good harvest.

This year Pongal begins on January 15 and will go on till January 18, 2024. To help you celebrate this festival, we share some beautiful images, and warm messages and quotes which you can send to your loved ones on Pongal 2024:
