Happy Navratri 2025: Best Messages, Quotes, Wishes and Images to share on Shardiya Navratri
While Navratri falls four times a year, the Shardiya Navratri celebrated during Autumn is one of the most awaited ones and a celebration that occupies utmost importance. This year, Shardiya Navrati will commence on 22 September and end on 2 October 2025 with the celebration of Vijayadashami. Shardiya Navratri falls in the auspicious Hindu month of Ashwin.
The nine-day long festival celebrated and ushered in different forms is commemorated with a lot of happiness and signifies how Goddess Durga triumphed over the demon king Mahishasur to end evil and honour the victory of good over evil. While it is believed that Goddess Durga arrives on the first day of Navratri, she is said to leave the Earth and return to heaven on Vijayadashmi.
How is Shardiya Navratri celebrated?
Shardiya Navratri is celebrated in honour of Goddess Durga and during these pious nine days, her nine forms, Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri are worshipped.
While Durga Puja celebrations in the West, festive display of idol dolls, figurines (known as Kolu) in parts of Southern India, Ramleela celebrations in the North are significant of the celebration, we also see Ashtami and Navami, i.e. the 8th and the 9th day is celebrated by conducting Kanya Pujan, wherein nine young girls are worshipped, since they are believed to be natural forces of creation.
As we prepare for the festival, here are a few wishes and greetings to share with your near and dear ones.
