The festival of diyas-Deepavali also marks new beginnings and is observed on the 15th day of Kartik, the holiest month in the Hindu lunar calendar. It usually falls between mid-October to mid-November. The devotees decorate their houses with traditional earthen lamps (diyas) and candles and make sure every entrance and boundary is twinkling with lights. It is also believed that Goddess Lakshmi descends from heaven to visit her devotees and bless them.

To prepare for this auspicious festival, people deck up and wear new clothes. They also visit their friends and families to distribute sweets and gifts. Here are some heartfelt wishes, messages and quotes that you can send to your loved ones this Diwali. Happy Diwali!
