Emily Brontë

Though she wrote only one book, Emily Brontë is an author who's name is known by all literature lovers. Born in England in 1818, she belonged to the Romantic period of literature. Her masterpiece 'Wuthering Heights' was published in 1847 and many thought it was written by a man at the time, for the passion and violence in it were so intense.
