While we stay safe at home during the coronavirus pandemic, books have proved to be our constant companions during these strange and uncertain times. And if you are looking for some amazing book recommendations, then check out this list of what some celebrities are reading this month. From Oprah to Reese Witherspoon to Sonam Kapoor, here we list down what some global celebs are reading in May 2020. Their suggestions might help you pick your next read.

Twinkle Khanna

Actress-entrepreneur-author Twinkle Khanna recently tweeted that she is back to reading books after a gap. She also revealed that she is currently reading Bernardine Evaristo's 'Girl, Woman, Other' which won the Booker Prize in 2019. Mrs Funnybones tweeted, "After a long reading slump, books and I are seeing eye to eye once again, not exactly in the same way as Taher Shah hopefully. Raag Darbari, my old love, was even better the second time around. Now falling in love with Girl, Woman, Other. #bookrecommendations".

Oprah

Oprah Winfrey is discussing 'Hidden Valley Road' by Robert Kolker in her book club this month. 'Hidden Valley Road' is a true story of an American family, the Galvins, of 12 children out of which six were diagnosed with schizophrenia. The family's DNA samples were taken for genetic research on schizophrenia which continues even today. The Galvins are one of the first families to be studied by the National Institutes of Mental Health (US) and this is their story of sufferings, hope and love.

Reese Witherspoon

Actor-producer and online book club owner, Reese Witherspoon has chosen 'The Henna Artist' by Alka Joshi as her May book club pick. "This vivid story is so rich and complex... reading about Lakshmi's journey from escaping an abusive marriage to becoming one of the most sought-after henna artists in Jaipur captivated me from the first chapter to the final page," she said, praising the book. Released in April 2020, 'The Henna Artist' is Alka Joshi's debut book.
