Greta Thunberg, 16, is probably one of the youngest climate change activists. She became a household name in 2018 when she decided to go on a strike outside Sweden's Parliament building. The aim was to get the politicians to do something about the climate change issue. Her protest garnered the international media's attention and Greta inspired millions of people to join her movement to save our planet.
Now, news is that a fictionalised picture book inspired by Greta will be released soon.
Frances Lincoln Children's Books, an imprint of The Quarto Group, has commissioned the picture book from Zoë Tucker and illustrator Zoë Persico reported The Bookseller. Titled 'Greta and the Giants', it will be published on November 19, 2019.
The story is of "a little girl who lives in a beautiful forest threatened by Giants until there is hardly any forest left. The animals beg her to do something. But how can one little girl be heard when the giants seem so powerful? Told as an allegory, an additional section at the back includes information about Greta Thunberg's life, how readers can help her in her fight against the giants, as well as notes for teachers and parents," reads a statement on Quarto's website.
The book is written by Zoë Tucker and is illustrated by Zoë Persico, and it will be printed on 100% recycled paper. News is 3% of the book's cover prize will be donated by Quarto to Greenpeace.
