From Sonali Bendre to Reese Witherspoon, here's what celebrities are reading this March

Reading is one of the best ways to expand your world view and have new perspectives on life. From actors, singers to influential personalities, several celebrities are often avid readers and some of them even have their own book clubs where they share their opinions, talk to writers and discuss books with fellow readers. Knowing what your favourite celebrity is reading is also a great way of deciding what to read next for many people. So, here we share what five global celebrities are reading in March 2020. Read on!

Sonali Bendre: Coming Out As Dalit

Actress and avid reader, Sonali Bendre was the Chair of the AutHer Awards 2020 for the non-fiction category. And so for the month of March, Sonali Bendre picked Yashica Dutt’s memoir 'Coming Out As Dalit' for her book club 'Sonali's Book Club'. 'Coming Out As Dalit' was shortlisted for AutHer Awards 2020. "Going through the #TimesLitFest @autherawards selection was an enriching experience - and this one was one of the books that stood out for me. Honest and heartfelt, Coming Out As Dalit by @yashicadutt is a memoir that takes us on her journey of coming to terms with her identity. Hope you read it and join in the #SBCBookDiscussion. I look forward to your thoughts," Sonali wrote on social media on March 13.

Twinkle Khanna: An American Marriage

Though Twinkle Khanna doesn't have a book club yet, she often shares pictures of her favourite books and what she is reading on social media. On March 13, she shared a picture of herself and her daughter, Nitara Kumar, enjoying some time together reading books. Twinkle can be seen reading Tayari Jones' award-winning book 'An American Marriage'-- a story of a middle-class African-American couple, Celestial and Roy, and how their lives are torn apart when Roy is wrongfully charged and convicted for rape.

Meanwhile, seven-year-old Nitara is seen reading one of the books from the Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey!

Oprah Winfrey: American Dirt

For this month, news is that Oprah Winfrey had initially picked Kate Elizabeth Russell's 'My Dark Vanessa' for her book club. But the book was dropped after knowing that it had received criticism online majorly by author Wendy Ortiz, as his 2014 memoir titled 'Excavation' is said to have a similar plot as Russell’s 'My Dark Vanessa'. Instead, Oprah decided to stick to her January pick 'American Dirt' for March.

This month I am reading #TheJetsetters by Amanda Eyre Ward! I love the sense of adventure in this story - it’s about a disconnected family that reunites on a cruise ship traveling through Europe," Reese wrote about the book on social media.
