5 Hair Oils That Actually Kick Summer Dandruff to the Curb

There is nothing quite as annoying as summer dandruff. You’d think the humidity would keep things "moisturized," but between the sweat, the dust, and the constant sun, our scalps usually end up in a state of total rebellion. While we usually reach for a harsh anti-dandruff shampoo the moment we see a flake, those often just strip our hair and leave the scalp even more irritated. This is where a good old-fashioned champi comes in. In India, oiling isn't just a beauty thing; it’s literally scalp therapy.

The reliable classic: Coconut oil

We grew up with this for a reason. Coconut oil is basically the Swiss Army knife of hair care. It has natural antifungal properties (crucial, since dandruff is often just a fungal overgrowth) and it’s light enough that it won’t feel like a heavy mask in 40°C heat.

The trick: Warm it up slightly before massaging it in. It helps the oil penetrate the scalp rather than just sitting on top of your hair.
