Sonakshi Sinha just dropped a desi curl secret

When it comes to beauty hacks, the best secrets are often not found in expensive products but passed down through generations or learned at home. This is exactly what happened with Sonakshi Sinha, who recently revealed a simple homemade trick for achieving natural, bouncy curls. The desi curl hack came courtesy of her mother-in-law, who shared it on her daily vlog. So, if you're looking for a heat-free way to add volume and bounce to your hair, this desi-approved trick might be worth trying.

The beauty trick comes straight from her mother-in-law’s haircare regimen

According to Sonakshi’s mother-in-law, applying flaxseeds can make your locks look bouncy and smooth. It mainly depends on the hair length and thickness; she recommends creating a batch with one tablespoon of flaxseeds and two cups of water after boiling the flaxseeds for 20 minutes. As soon as you see a foam-like sticky texture, turn off the heat, cool down the mixture, and then apply the paste on your hair.

The curling technique is everything

To achieve natural-looking curls, Sonakshi applies cooled flaxseed gel evenly throughout her hair before dividing it into several small braids. She leaves the braids in overnight, allowing the gel to work its magic and create soft, textured curls without the need for any heat styling. In the morning, she gently unravels the braids and lightly spritzes or rinses her hair. Finish with a curl-defining serum to enhance the texture and enjoy naturally bouncy, voluminous curls.

How do flaxseeds help in curling hair?

The flaxseeds, when immersed in water, tend to excrete mucilage, which is a slippery jelly-like substance that coats the hair fibres. This jelly helps create waves and curls while also reducing frizz. In addition, it promotes curl clumping, which gives a moderate level of hold and moisturises the hair, leaving it more defined, soft and manageable.

Is this a permanent solution?

Absolutely not. The flaxseed gel does not change your hair's structure but helps create a natural wave that will last only for a short period. It is a perfect solution for straight-haired girls who wish for an intact curly look for some time without applying chemical-induced curl creams or styling gels with heat appliances.
