Samantha Ruth Prabhu's post-divorce advice on getting tattoos: "Never. Never ever. Ever, get a tattoo."

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in the Indian entertainment industry, known not only for her remarkable acting skills but also for her stunning beauty and impeccable fashion sense. Back in 2022, Samantha Ruth Prabhu made a bold statement about tattoos that captured the attention of her fans. During an Instagram Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, a fan asked the actress about any tattoo ideas she might consider in the future. Samantha, with a smile, responded with a piece of advice that surprised many. In a candid video, she said, “You know the one thing I'd tell my younger self is never ever get a tattoo. Never. Never ever. Ever, get a tattoo.” Though she was smiling throughout the video, her message was clear: tattoos, in her experience, weren’t something she would recommend. The strong words were a throwback to how she now feels about the ink she’s had done in the past.

Samantha, despite her current stance on tattoos, actually has three on her body. One is the YMC tattoo on her back, which represents the title of her first film, Ye Maaya Chesave, released in 2010. This film, which also starred her then-husband, Naga Chaitanya, was a significant milestone in her career and marked the beginning of their relationship. The second tattoo is on her right side, near her ribs, which bears the word "Chay" written in cursive. This tattoo is a tribute to Naga Chaitanya’s nickname, a personal gesture that was meaningful during their marriage. The third tattoo is on her right wrist, which features a symbol of two upward arrows, a design that was similar to one Naga Chaitanya also had on his wrist.



However, life took a different turn for Samantha and Naga Chaitanya in 2021 when they announced their divorce after nearly four years of marriage. The couple released a joint statement that read, “After much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths.” They emphasized their long-standing friendship, which had been the foundation of their relationship, and requested privacy as they moved forward. Samantha’s tattoos, particularly the ones that held personal significance related to Naga Chaitanya, became a reminder of a chapter in her life that had since closed.
