Six morning rituals that will keep the guys looking good through the day

Clean your pores: There’s a reason why women have different products for facial skin and the rest of the body. Regular soap will rob your face of essential oils, which you don’t want. Invest in a facial cleanser that contains an exfoliant. While in the shower use this to scrub your face well, preferably with cold water. Within a month you will notice, clearer, fresher skin. Have a cup of Joe: If the morning alarm leaves you groggy, the best way to become a more amicable person is to give your system a good jolt with a cup of black coffee or tea (even green tea is great). They are packed with antioxidants that keep your body looking young. There’s research which suggests a few cups of coffee or tea a day cuts your risk of dementia. (Thinkstock photos/Getty Images)

Get rid of the facial hair: There’s little point in the bathing and the scrubbing if you don’t shave. Yes, women do prefer a day-old stubble but let’s face it, not every man is George Clooney. Take the time out for this little task. Even if you don’t want to shave, at least spend a couple of minutes in front of the mirror to check if there’s any hair peeping from under your nostrils or ears. Even Clooney can’t pull that off. Pump some iron: It seems like a drag, but sweating it out first thing in the morning will leave you in a better frame of mind through the day, what with the endorphins released in your system. Your skin will also start improving. Don’t forget to pack in a few push-ups and ab exercises. They wake up your core muscles and keep your posture upright for the rest of the day. Yoga is good for you, too. (Thinkstock photos/Getty Images)

Pack in a healthy breakfast: The jury is still to out on whether it’s breakfast or lunch that’s the most important meal of the day. But that’s no excuse to skip the first meal of the day. Go with a fairly light, but nutritious meal by packing in lean protein and slow burning carbs — oats, fruits or poha are your best friends at this hour of the day. It will keep your hunger pangs in control through the day. If you can manage to squeeze in an additional 10 minutes, pack yourself a lunch. This will ensure you don’t indulge in heavy-calorie takeouts for the afternoon meal. (Thinkstock photos/Getty Images)

The scent of a man: You may not believe it, but women are likely to be turned by a man’s smell. And so, smelling awesome every day is like introducing your woman to a habit: you. Slap the same cologne on every morning. To help the scent all day, layer yourself by wearing a matching deodorant. And, if the scent is a mild one, using a soap of the same aroma will help.
