Nail care tips post extension removal during wedding season
Nail extensions have gained immense popularity in recent years, becoming a staple beauty trend that many women follow religiously every month. However, the appearance of our natural nails after removal can be difficult to accept. The excessive buffing, gels, and glues used during the process can damage the nail bed, leaving it in need of extra care. Nail extensions often result in weakened, brittle nail beds, causing slower growth and increased fragility.
It is the season of weddings when most girls wear and remove these nail extensions. If you are one of them and have recently got your nail extensions removed, then follow these easy tips and start taking care of your nail beds.
Keep the nail length short: After getting extensions, cut short your nails and let them naturally grow. They will not remain the same and require time to be healthy and strong. They might break quickly, therefore you need to keep them short, remove all the dead nails, and start the process all over again.
Nail strengtheners are a good idea: Your nails need time to breathe naturally after you have removed the extensions. As they get weak, the nails do need time to strengthen, and this can be done via a nail strengthening machine which hardens your nails naturally. This is mainly transparent nail paint which is a little thicker and should be used twice a week.
Start using cuticle oil: A lot of chemicals go down the process which leaves them dry and damaged. To restore their health, it is important to keep your nails moisturised at all times. You can purchase nail creams or cuticle oils which come in handy and can be applied any time of the day, keeping your nail bed moisturised and far from being dry.
A good diet is a must: A good diet for healthy nails is a must. Consume a diet with omega-3, biotin, and other nutrients which would strengthen your nails. You can also try foods like avocados, peanuts, almonds, walnuts, and sweet potatoes. Mainly food which is rich in vitamin E and omega-3.
Bottom line
Keep a good gap before going to the nail salon: Before your next nail appointment, give your nails some time to breathe as nothing will get better overnight. After almost a month, you can visit again and try a new set of extensions.
