Carry a clean, sweat-proof look this summer

Stepping out in summer hours can feel like a sauna, especially during sweltering afternoons. The heat and humidity make the challenge more difficult, with our freshly routine makeup getting ruined by disgusting natural sweat. Standing as the villain in every girl’s story, to prevent the formation of sweat beads and a patchy look, one must know what kind of products to apply and what makeup and skincare process to follow. Therefore, get ready to take 5 major notes, as we’re spilling the beans on how to carry a clean, sweat-proof look this summer.

2/6

Start with an ice water dip

We’ve often seen our favourite celebrities or beauty influencers take a face dip in an ice-water bowl. It is not a mere trend but rather an effective technique to help keep your makeup sweatproof. This skin prep method shrinks our facial pores in humid climates, making your skin firm and tight. This further prevents the makeup from becoming patchy and blotchy, making you look stunning from every angle in any climatic condition. Simply dip your face a couple of times in ice-cold water, and keep your face inside for 5 seconds, first in the morning.

Minimal skincare base

Avoid applying thick layers of greasy and heavy formula skincare products in your AM routine. Opt for lightweight formulations that are easily absorbed, and follow a simple 4-step routine that will control oiliness and sweat on your face. Opt for products rich in vitamin C and niacinamide that are excellent picks for this sweat season. Also, opt for a gel-based moisturiser and a mattifying sunscreen for shine control. Patiently allow your SPF and moisturiser to get absorbed and keep an ample gap in between before starting your makeup routine.

Always apply a primer

Women usually skip applying primer and immediately start the makeup process with a foundation. A good mattifying primer acts like a strong barrier to a pore-clogging foundation. It protects our skin from acne, makeup dirt, and sweat formation as well. Primer application prevents beauty products from melting when you sweat and helps you carry a clean and stunning finish during hot and humid weather.

5/6

Apply a minimum amount of foundation

Applying only a few drops of foundation in a humid climate can help you achieve a sweat-proof makeup look. Allow your skin to breathe and feel less sticky with serum foundations that feel ultra-light and can prevent your makeup from caking and creasing as well. Ditch the heavy formulations and avoid multi-layering as well, which will further block the pores. Use a tinted moisturiser or BB cream that gives a foundation cover and lets your pores feel the breeze.

6/6

Opt for smudge-proof products

From kohl to eyeliners and mascara, all of your makeup products should come with a smudge-proof formulation. The smudge-proof products shield against the skin’s greasiness, keeping your eye makeup in place. Furthermore, the contour and highlighter palette should have the same formulation to keep the grease away and forbid your face to look darker than usual. Smudge-proof products do not budge for hours, no matter how humid the weather conditions are.
